Racine Co.- 4 newspapers- 2 at Southport, & 2 at Racine. 12 # Post Offices- Aurora, Bristol, Ives Grove, Lakeville, Pleasant Branch, Rochester, Mount Pleasant, Racine, Salem, Salona, Southport, Yorkville.

This county occupies the south east corner of the Territory. The streams are, Root river, Pike creek, the Des Plaines, -Pishtaka (Fox), Geneva Outlet, & Muskego Outlet. Southport, Racine, Rochester, Burlington, & Waterford are the principal villages. Wind Lake and several other small lakes occupy the western part of the county. The face of the country is generally even or rolling and nearly destitute of timber- Burr Oak, hickory, &c. are found in occasional groves. Beds of limestone are found on some of the streams.
