Red Cedar Island- see Colcaspi.

Red Dog Diggins-(Mine No 6)

Red Fords run a small branch of the Pishtaka in Milwaukee county, affording excellent water power.

Red Fork, the outlet of Red Lake into Red river, about one hundred & twenty miles long. It is a navigable stream (for canoes) and has a north westerly course; it is near the north west part of the Territory.

Red Lake- a lake lying north of the source of the Mississippi, of which but little is known with certainty; its shape is probably very irregular as it is not represented alike on any two maps. Maj. Long's party were informed that it has the form of a crescent with its back to the south-west and that it was sixty miles long and twenty four miles wide. It discharges its waters through the Red Fork into Red river of the north. Its name an incorrect translation of [from the] is the Indian name which means "blood"-and not any from red color in the water.
