Rock Prairie- a large prairie occupying the south east part of Rock county; extending into the west part of Walworth county. Turtle creek runs through it.

Rock Port a village laid out on the west side of Rock river in Rock County at Holme's rapids one mile below Janesville.

Root river a small strea, thirty five miles in length [in] rising in Milwaukee county and running in a south-easterly direction, enters Lake Michigan at Racine. It drains about two hundred square miles of surface, has some water power at the rapids a few miles above the mouth where there is a rapid over limestone rock. It has been proposed to turn Muskego lake into this river.
