Southport a town in Racine county embracing (as modified in 1843) range twenty three and [four miles from the east side of range twenty two] in towns one & two [and also the north east quarter (and the fraction opposite) of section six town one range twenty three.] It lies on the Lake shore embracing the towns of Southport and Kenosha, and Pike creek, enters the lake near the centre of [lies almost wholly within] this town. Its population in 1838 was four hundred and fifty six.

Spafford Creek, a small stream rising in Illinois and running north into the Pekatonica three miles above the "Forks".

Spear Lake, a lake near the source of the St. Croix river.

Spauding's Creek, a tributary of Green Bay from the west, between the [Oconto] Pensaukee and Hamilton's Creek.

Spencer's river, a tributary of Lake Superior from the south entering between Iron river and Cranberry river.
