Summit This town in 1840 contained according to the census 62 homes, 471 meat cattle, 36 sheep, & 681 swine; the crops are 3215 bushels of wheat, 2675 of oats, 146 of buckwheat, 3815 of Indian corn and 7,055 of potatoes, & 695 tons of hay:- 2175 pounds of maple sugar were made. It had one retail store with a capital of $1500, one grist mill and one saw mill.

*[Sharpon] Sharon a town in Walworth Co organized in 1843 comprising around township No 1 R 15. It is well watered by several branches of Turtle creek. O. Openings prevail throughout.

Springfield Prairie in Portage County, a fine prairie affording fine quarries of limestone.
