Tomahawk Lake- a lake near the source of the Chippewa river, which runs through it.

Travers (Lac) Pemidii a beautiful lake on the Misssissippi forty miles above Cass Lake, twelve miles long from north to south and about six miles wide; with high shores well covered with hard wood timber. The [country] forests around the lake however are chiefly pine.
