Two Rivers. Two branches of Red river which are in this Territory north of Red Lake and run in a westerly direction. They were crossed by May Long's party twelve miles above their mouths, and two miles above their junction, where they were each about ten yards wide. At the junction of the two branches there is a [considerable] salt spring.

Two Rivers- a town laid out in 1836 in Manitowoc county on the narrow point of land between the East and West Twin rivers in Manitowoc county. It is beautifully and pleasantly situated; having a very large and valuable steam saw mill which can be made to cut two thousand five hundred feet of pine lumber in an hour, but the number of other buildings and the number of inhabitants is not very great. Large quantities of white fish and lumber are shipped from this place, and the construction of a harbor would render it a place of considerable importance.
