August 13, 1922 - Sunday

Ma T.M. came to read B. with me again this p.m.; we
got thru a whole ch. Previously I had read papers, as
was farther behind than ever this time. Went to S.S. & ch.
as usual this a.m. Looked over quarterly statement &
found every thing O.K. - except my acct had been
drawn on for my ticket up here; R23-0-6; & I'm due a
refund on two parcels sent separately from the rest
of my baggage, but really a part of my outfit, amount-
ing [amounting] to R16-4-0. Haven't even had time to write post-
cards these last few wks. Took "New Paths Through
Old Palestine" by Margaret Slattery to Mrs. E. several
days ago; it is a small book, so rather wounded
way she was keeping it so long; found out she's
been reading parts of it to her 7th S. Bible clalss,
think I'll read to mine when she returns it. Mrs.
H. was in bed this a.m. but preached for Eng. service
this eve; looked like a ghost, however. Some dottins
were there - the first time I'd seen them, but the others
knew them & introduced me. The G's not there; he
was preaching for the Chinese.

The song book marked "ball" couldn't be found this
a.m., so we all sat & waited for some 15 min. while the
lesson sunk in about not returning borrowed property.

August 14, 1922 - Monday

Worked in the library all a.m. placing the books on
convenient shelves for use; announced in chapel
with the 5th S., till F. when the 9th & 10th will both come,
as they are small. Just before noon my furniture
arrived, so of course had to drop everything for the
time being & attend to that; it came to R170-8-0 & R3 ex-
tra [extra] for the carts; am getting off fairly well, as I suppose
the bill would be in the neighborhood of 200; of course
my dresser has no mirror on it yet, so that makes a
slight difference; I think the glass knobs add greatly
to its appearnce; am so glad I happened to bring them.
Am disappointed in my book case doors; they are dia-
mond [diamond] shaped, but not like Miss P's, larger going all
the way across each door; the looks turn hard, so
at Mrs. E's suggestion, we'll oil each of them. I see my
work now cut out for me for the next week; all
my books will again have to be dusted, on acct of
that recent dust storm; and as part of them have al-
ready been shifted, besides being so again, when I car-
ried them in & placed them in piles on the floor,
they will also have to be largely resorted. Am very
much afraid even the two cases won't hold them, but
will try to squeeze them all in somehow. Had to send
word to the 5th S. not to come as I couldn't be in 3
places at the same time, breakfast being called just
then. Jenn. again did most of the work, screwed on
all 4 doors, lifted, shifted, etc., as all Miss P's things
which I've been using had to be moved into the other
room in order to clear space for minie. I dusted out
drawers, etc, till she could come up & set in my room
while I went down & ate - for all my
