eighty five and in the ninth year of the independence of the United
States of America in the town of Washington, in the county of
Beaufort and district aforesaid, had devised, granted, and to
farm let to the said John, these several lots of land in the Town of
Washington in the county and district aforesaid with all the improvements thereon, known & distinguished in
the plan of the said Town by Lot No 49, Lot No 43, & lot No 40 -
which said several lots of and are described in a mortgage
deed from Michael [?] & Philip Reilly to the aforesaid George
Grundy bearing date the fifteenth day of October in the year of
our lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty four, to have
and to hold the said several lots of land with the improvements thereon
