Greate Storms of Snow & cold weather in the North
across Cumberland river & the streams emptying into it Bridges are all gone, the Nashville Bridge yet standing, houses and people, families, in them are seem floating down the Streams. Tennessee river, Ohio river, Mississippi river, & other Streams all overflowed & houses floated down them, and is still raining, these overflows & freshet commenced about the last of Feby & 1st of March in some places The Watters in the North are subsiding but it has been a greate freshet borth North & South but more so in the South The Coldest weather the greatest Snow storms in the North & South that has been for Many Years, long to be remembered. Chattanuga is nearly all washed away several 100 houses gone

My Self Not well
It is still raining slowly rained all day yesterday all night last night & is still raining this morning The Wind and rain is coming from the East. I am unwell of cold it is verry bad My head, throte, & brest are all out of fix I cant sleep of a night but little & of a morning I am ailing for some time I am verry weak & quite feeble I have been so less or more for about 3 months

It rained a little through the night the Wind has shifted to the North and is turning some colder We are trying to hall up a little Wood Nothing a doing My cold is but verry little better if any I am to unwell to go out but verry little. I Stopt them from taken our brick today
