I rested better last night I See from my hand wrighting that
my nerves are much more steady this morning. My Cold is break-
ing & I am throwing off verry considerable. I think & hope I
am gitting better for I have been unwell a long time and have
been a good deal out of heart, not having been able to attend
to anything much
Mag went to Town did not get home at night

Tu 26 / Rain / Oats & Clover / Preston Beef / Rain & Wind &c / Mag / Clover Seed quantity
It has been Raining a little through the Night the Wind &
Rain is from the South & East & looks verry much like rain.
I commenced plowing in & sowing my Oats & clover West of the
Old Garden on yesterday evening. Richd & Calvin is plowing
the Ball horse & Black lame Mule together, & Bill & Dutch
together, they are doing it verry well. The Ball and Black
Mule is verry powerful team Worked by Richd. I got 24 lbs.
of Clover Seed to sow 3 1/2 acres of clover ground 6 lbs to the
acre is said to be what is wright. I got of Preston 54 1/2 lbs
of Beef.
A verry heavy Wind & rain commenced falling about 2 oclock in
the evening & has rained all evening the wind, thunder & light-
ening was tolerable severe. It stopt us in sowing our Clover
& Oats for the present
Mag did not get back last night
6 lbs of Clover seed is the right quantity to put on an acre
of ground to give it a good stand. I always put 7 or 8 lbs to
the acre it makes a good stand
