Sat 15 The morning a little cloudy some wind from the South East &
looks like more rain It commenced raining last night about
Rain heavey } dark & rained a tolerable heavey rain until the turn of the
night The ground is verry Wet & running with Watter too much
for the good of the Crops. Caleb is gitting behind verry much
all a little behind I was yesterday through all the fields
& if this wet weather continues there will be more weeds than
Corn or Cotton in a short time. William come home near night
carried Miss Rebecca Standford behind him he stayed last
night at Thos. L.
Dan rice Mare } I fixed up Olicks Old lott & stable put the bay Dan Rice in
it until she has a Colt.

1867 June Sun 16 Self
The Morning is clear & warm tolerable calm. My health is still
improving See entry of last Monday. I now think I will recover
but it will require every attention to exercise Diet & taking
the best care of my self in every way. I ride over the farm
less or more every day less or more When I fatigue my self a
little too much I am not so well for a while I have kipt a
very strict regard in the diet & cloathing & by this course
I think I will get up one time more.

Mon 17 The morning is clear calm & warm the boys, Jack & his Cousin,
Richard, George Hargrove & Calvin again plowed over my Irish potatoes
