Saturday October 15, 1921
A good day. Partly cloudy. Ben & Jim hauled logs to the saw mill.
Josie got dinner. I got breakfast and milked the cows, fed the possomes and the chickens, churned and fixed the butter.
This evening Reese carried me to White Falls. Did not catch any thing to speak of. We had good luck going and comeing. Reese did not have any trouble with the car.
Alma Bennett come to spend the night with us. I am glad that she came.
Friday October 28, 1921
A good day. Cloudy in the morning but no rain and we need rain so bad. Jim stripped tobacco all day. Ben shelled some corn & went to the mill. He got his grain ground.
I done all of the feeding of chickens and cows & opossomes. Helped get dinner. Josie made some candy for the school entertainment. Alcie Callands washed for Josie today. She is a good hand. I went to Marvins a few minutes
Jim & Ben went to Willie Mayhews for a hog that Ben bought from Mayhew.
I hope he may have good luck with her. There was to be speaking at the school house tonight. Our folks did not go.
Monday November 14, 1921
A rainy morning. Henry went to school. Edna staid at home. Jim & Ben helped Marvin load on his tobacco & he helped Ben load his. They intend going to Gretna in the morning. Josie made Edna some pettie coats & the baby some gowns. I got up at five this morning and got breakfast. Had beef steak. I milked the cow & fed all of the cows. Fed the chickens. Put on to boil some beef and potatoes and peas. Toasted some coffee and churned. Made bread and coffee and finished dinner. This evening I went to Marvins. Kate Harvey come to Marvins and come here a few minutes. Reese was to take her home but he was so late getting home I guess she was gone.

Monday, January 2, 1922
A clear colde day the coldest that has bin this winter. Ben has bin at home all day. We did not eat but twice today. We cooked rabbits for dinner. Today is Carries birth day. Jim come home tonight. Mr Bob Starkey brought him from Chatham. He brought a pig with him. He brought several little presents for us all. A thermos bottle for me & candy and a doll for the children. Ben has bin fixin up the fence. The red cow has bin getting in the corn. The children are so glad that Jim is here.
Tuesday, January 3, 1922
A cloudy colde day. Jim & Ben shucked some corn and fed the cows the stalks. We got dinner at twelve oclock today. The children went to school was very late comeing home. Mabel stuck a stick in Franklins eye. I am afraid it is hurt bad. Hope it may be a bout well in the morning. Josie and I have sewed a little today. I wrote Lizzie Benett this morning. I am uneasy a bout Lonnie. I had a note from Carrie today. I am glad that they got home ok. I feel like I would like to see all of the children but I may never see them all a gain. No one knows what will be.
