A rainy morning clear this evening. Effie Brumfield Mollie Reynolds and [I] went in town this evening. Went to see the moving pictures. We went a gain to night. Willie and Mary went with us.

I think Richmond a mighty pretty place.

We went in the green house and looked a round. There is lots of pretty plants there.

This is wrote May the 15th in the morning before breakfast.

A good day. Ben and Owen finished getting up wheat and rye this morning. Ben and Marvin went to Hubbards this evening. Josie finished Beatrice Owens dress this evening. I got the dinner.

This evening Grace Brumfield and I went to the river fishing. Caught eels.

Got home at dark. Josie had milked and got supper. I was glad. I was tired. I got a letter from Mary Brumfield. I am glad to hear from them.

A cloudy morning rain this evening. Ben and Paul and Owen plowed half the day.

Josie got dinner. I churned and worked some in the garden.

Ellen and Melvin Bailiss come and got milk and butter. I wrote a letter to Mary Brumfield this evening.

Heard this morning that Sam Carter was to be buried to day.

A good day. Had a sprinkle of rain this evening.

Josie picked black berries this morning and made preserves this evening.

Johnson Reynolds had his wheat thrashed to day. Ben helped. They thrashed at Marvins this evening. I helped Carrie get supper. Mrs Carr was sick most of the day is better tonight.

I had a letter from Mary Brumfield.

A good day and very warm. Ben and Paul suckered tobacco. Josie got dinner. I do[d]ged a round as usual.

This evening we went to Marvins. Kate Harvey come here and then to Marvins.

Marvin had water mellons the first I have seen this year. Josie come by the corn field and got snaps. I got a basket of tomatoes.

Heard this morning that Julia Fergerson has a daughter born the 4th.

Josie and I wrote to Thelma and Mary.
