You are advised that the meaning of this word is "Big Mountain".

The Superintendent, Cherbourg Settlement, via MURGON.
A request has been received at this Office for the meaning of the aboriginal word "Yirrkala" and if it is known to any of the Cherbourg natives I should be pleased if you will advise the definition.
"Yirrkala" is a small district in the Northern Territory.
