According to natives here this word means "a black man been there".

The Superintendent, Cherbourg Settlement, via MURGON.

Enquiry has been made at this Office for the meaning of the aboriginal word "Moorimbin" and it would be appreciated if you would question some of the Cherbourg natives and advise.

According to the enquirer, this name was given to a Bora ground situated between Peeraman and Boonjie on the Atherton Tableland.
