In response to your enquiry 1A/230 of the 16th instant, I have to advise that I have ascertained that the word "Oorindi" means "tearing up".

The Superintendent, Cherbourg Settlement, via MURGON.

Enquiries have been made at this Office for the meaning of the word "Oorindi" which is a Station in the Roma district and it would be appreciated if you would interview some of the Cherbourg natives and advise.
