Saturday, April 8. Went to the Sparte with Marjorie. She went away with indigestion pain. I sat with Col. Appell. Dr. Marshall invited me to drive with him and we left before the end. He took me to the San Lazaro Hospital where all the lepers are confined. There are several hundred and they are obliged to spend their lives there. They were arranging a play for amusement. Went into the insane ward, also saw patient recovering from Bubonic plague and one small pox. Dined with Admiral Train on the Rainbow. Other guests – Dr. & Mrs. Strong, Mr & Mrs. Jones, Commander Wells & Lt. Milne.
