Judge Scott promised me before I left Knoxville to report to you the cases adjourned to the Special Court from the first Circuit, but as it may be possible that he may not be able to obtain the names of the Parties I have thought it safest to subjoin a list of them which you will find below

Knoxville 10th July 1826

To his Excellency William Carroll Esquire Governor of the State of Tennessee

We the undersigned Judges of the Supreme Court of the State of Tennessee, now holding said court at Knoxville, pursuant to the 70th chapter of the acts of the General Assembly of this State passed on the 5th day of December 1825, do certify and make known to your Excellency, that there are pending in the Supreme Court of Errors and Appeals at Knoxville, the following causes, to hear and determine which, there is not a competent court, as will appear by the docket hereto annexed, with the remarks thereon: To wit,

Jesse Meek vs Marcus D Bearden & Morton Peterson

Judge Peck was of counsel for the complainant made the decree in the chancery ^court and Judge Catron is of affinity to the defendant Bearden's wife.

John Love vs John McIver & others

Judges Catron & Peck were of counsel for the complainant Love

John Cocke vs David Stuart

Judge Peck was of Counsel ^in the suit at law and has an interest in the question for deft and Judge Catron is of affinity to the complainant

John Cocke & John F Jack vs Robert McGinnis admr

Judge Peck was of counsel for the deft & Judge Catron is of affinity to the plaintiff Cocke

Joseph P. Minnick's lessee vs John Cocke, John Brown & others

Judge Peck was of counsel for the Plaintiff and Judge Catron is of affinity to the deft Cocke

[John Tanner?] vs Wm & Royal Jennings

Judge Peck was of counsel for the compt. & Judge Whyte heard the cause in the court below from whose decree an appeal was taken.
