Monday 14 Jan 1890 A stormy day snowing and blowing all day to day & all last night drifting into cattle and horses stay in stables. Mr Woodman's driving their cattle through the blinding storm to the river to water. Will D has no coal for their stove. Would like to have grandmother over if she could get here. Grace sewing a quilt. I sew and cut carpet rags.
Tuesday 15 Jan 1895 A stormy day snowing and blowing. Very doubtful if OBrien goes for the mail. Ought to write a letter but not get time, cannot wash no soap. Voltie went in evening to Mr Niles for tobaco. Mart folowed [sic] him under pretence of going to post office. OBrien drove down on ice with mail (or Soban) J OBrien gone to a weding. Miss Dee married to a Brown. Snowed all day; cold medium. Morgan's boys at J Niles; played cards

Saturday 10 Feb 2894 Raining morning, Wind S. Blowing hard. Afternoon Snow & freezing. Will here in the morning prepared to go on the potato mission. But Snub Woodman went and left him because he did not drive the ice. Wells finished the lounge. Voltie reeled carpet rags. Grace sick all day, caught a cold yesterday. I moped [sic] floors and done all the Saturday work. Snow, soft ice covered with water. Voltie in the evening went on horse back to Mr Niles to buy tobaco of [sic] Wallace and came back at 1/2 past nine PM. Mart went for the mail this morning, a letter from Johny and one from Rachel.
Sunday 11 Feb 1894 Wind West and cold cloudy but clearing up at 10 AM. sun shining out clear. Would like to go to Belle's but cold and going very very slow. Frank Bamford skated over and brought Wells a letter from Clayton. Wallace Niles & Mart went over the river to Old Hides Boy for tobac. Dick Brown came over a while. Ed Bates here in evening

Tuesday 20th quite a pleasant day. Wind blowing South, blustered some this morning. Wells Sr gone to Clayton N.Y. Wells Jr & Voltie are over at the Island. Martin at school. Maud & Grace alone to-day. Ma finished sewing our carpet rags: that was cut yesterday. W.G. Woodman & family went to Watertown to day. Charlie Woodman went for Dr yesterday for his father. They boys intended going to Kingston to-day with hay but wind blew to hard
Wednesday 21st A very pleasant day. Wellie gone to Kingston with hay Will Dixon went with him. Martin gone to school. Voltie & Pa drawing hay and done other little odd work in the evening. Voltie drove G & M to Mrs Niles to spend the eve found G & Lill gone to Joslins

Wellie's dog. They went to Millens bay but could get no trace of the dog. Evening time Frank Woodman brought down one of their horses and hitched up to V's cutter and they went to River View to a donation held at the hotel for the Rev Stronger and came home at 12 Oclock midnight, traveling on ice fine.
Wednesday 28 and last day in Feb 1894 A fine day. Wind S.W. Wellie gone again to the city with hogs. Wells working in the shop at something. A man from Gananoque called to sell a harness. Did not buy. Voltie went towards evening to Walls's to cut E some wood, came up home and brought with him Hiram Davis & son and Derush. They had been to Clayton to the races, went down on an ice boat but no wind coming up so they pushed the boat as far as here and stoped here to supper. Left later and and [sic] walked home 7 miles. V went up by Niles to help Wellie across. The big clock hose up like a mountain. Mart at school

day to draw hay after all. Frank Woodman, Voltie & Uncle Samy gone to the Clayton races again to day. Samy furnishing the horse and V furnishing the cutter, robes and whip. I am trying to churn a little butter. Grace sewing on her calico dress. Maude & Irene making a noise. Eugene Dixon gone to Wills to dinner. Mart gone to school. Eugene came back and waiting till evening for Voltie & Grace to go to W.G. Woodman's to an oyster party given by the "chosen friends". Stayed all night till 5 Oclock in the morning.
3rd March & Saturday 1894 A beautiful day. Wind S, very calm and warm. Snow fast disapearing. Mart & Voltie making a small table for me. Grace feels rather dissapated after last nights debauch though she slept till 9 AM. I did not call her up. Wellie intended going to K with hay but the roads are all slush and Wellie so sick.
