July 14 Friday 1893 Very warm day not much wind but South. Grace rowed boat down to Wellie's. I went Wellies, stayed all day. Grace and Maud went raspberrying from Wellies. Wellie, Mart and Will drawing hay and stacking. Eveline rowed me home. Muriel and Hubert came too. found Maud and Grace been home long time. Jill Niles came and went to post ofice with Grace. Nearly dark when E and children went home in boat


July 15 Saturday some what cloudy Wind south, blowing fresh, barometer falling. very warm. Wellie and Mart (and I think Will) drawing and stacking hay down by wellie's. Grace, Maud and I alone. Grace cleaned floors. I washed windows and dishes, Maud done little work too. Maude and I fed hogs and pulled pig weeds for the pigs George Williams and Will help [illegible]he draw & stack hay drew stone [illegible]nd here I paid G a dollar

July 21 Friday A very warm day Wind South no rain. Wellie, Will and George Williams & Martin haying. they drew ten loads of hay for Wellie and two for Will Martin. brought Eveline and the children up in milk waggon so Eveline could sew on the machine Huberts dress. We had letters from Voltie and one from "Hugh Land Office" I dont feel very well after going to Kingston yesterday. Grace picked and shelled peas and carried them to Eveline, came back and went up to Mr Niles with oil can and a dollar to get oil and paris green for tater bags


Saturday July 22nd. A very warm day Wind South with heavy thunder shower, first rain in nearly or quite two weeks. Maude went to pick peas. Grace and I went and picked the red raspberries and preserved them. Grace got something in her eye. Jen and Miss Bird & Charles picking peas for dinner. Grace cleaned floors. I churned, baked bread, wash dishes, got dinner, heard Maude read. Maud is very hard yet to learn. We cooked the beef E sent us, looked over my account

Monday 7 September 96 A beautiful day breezy from South. Grace washing. Greenwood here and served summons on Bamford in favor of Tom Hatfield: but I dont care how things goes now days. I'm content: my children are big enough and old enough by God's help to take care of themselves. Voltie digging potatoes in the orchard. Will & Jess R are fishing. Lottie, Ethel, Muriel and Hubert here. Wellington, Burnham and Perley are here cleaning grain at our grainery. Churned again to day.

Thursday 8 October 96 Slept out bed at 7 am, a cold cloudy dark morning been raining all night. I drove to dock with Grace and Harry. Maud at home. Eveline and Will Dixon gone to Kingston. Eveline carried her carpet rags to the city to have her carpet woven. Maud works well all day. Wellie came up after breakfast. Muriel and Hubert are with him. Voltie and Wellie go to Geo Gillespies to thresh. Wellie came back and the children go home with him. V goes with Jesse Reid to help him run his nets and load the fish in to the waggon and draw them here. Jesse helps draw manure and milk the cows. Eddy Bates ate supper with us and then they go to the dock for Grace.

Friday 26 March 1897 A very good day as compared with yesterday. G washing a line full of clothes. Will painting house for V. Voltie painting kitchen floor. W Sr doing chores. Maud and Marjorie playing and boiling sap in a tin pan. Welly came up for ground provender & said Muriel & Hubert got a bad cold. V helping Will paint outside this afternoon.
