I think he Will receive the 30 ounces of Gold Dust I sent to him sometime ago Which is worth over $500 there so it will assest [assist] him in Carrying our my contract in the Butter Buisness [Business] & if there is any thing needed in carrying Buisness [Business] snug and straight let me Know all about it for whenever one or two of the lots of Butter arrives here it will give me plenty of money so I can spare it out of our Buisness [Business] But Never mind Keep good courage you and amos [Amos] for I think all will be well if we all do as well as we can I am sorry that Nicholas had not done all as I drected [directed] him But it may turn out for the Best time will tell more about it tell Evi a [A] Martin I was verry [very] glad to hear from him with his own hand tell write him when he writes his letters more lenghy [lenghty] as to Fredrick Bronson holding them mortgages of Henry Prises and Johnathan Hills if I Ever did Know any thing about it I have forgotten it But tell Evi I have written to my father and gave him an order to go and get them and tell Bronson to take the seal off of them or Cross the names off of them and see they are taken off of Reccord [Record] which Mr Bronson will do for he has no Intrest [interest] in them or I will wrte [write] an order & Put it in this letter for Mr Bronson to give them to Evi A Marten or Nicholas Ryerson & Will Write another order and put it in a letter to my father Both a like so if one of thes [these] letters should git [get] lost you might git [get] the other tell Evi to Keep good Courage & Catharine two [too] that I think I will vesit [visit] them as I used to do about one year from this winter and then we can can set and tell long storys [stories] about calafornia [California] as I have seen it not about going there as we did the last two winters I am quite Busy the most of my time and hardly can make time to write But you can make up your mind that I Will Write Evry [every] mail which is Evry [every] two weeks and I want You to do the same and not neglect it for it is a satisfation [satisfaction]

So I do not want any sent next year without directions from me next season But I am Inhopes [in hopes] the Butter of this season may come In good order tell Nicholas N to send me the Bill of all the cost & his seveses [services] and all so that I can send the mony [money] what may Be due &c [etc.] if any at the last mail I writ [wrote] home to Hannah My Wife & to Albert & Anna & Intend to write Evry [every] mail home which is Evry [every] two weeks so you will be likly [likely] to hear from us often tell My Sisters & Brothenlaws [Brother-in-laws] to write to me to me Evry [every] opportunity for I do like to hear from you all tell Capten [Captain] Row to write to me and send me a news paper [newspaper] and I would have written to him as I promised But Could not see what to write to benefit him But tell him what I say smart Buisness [business] men some times can do out here But Remember they can do the same at home some times But I Know Busisness [business] men here that makes more I think in one month than they could at home in the same buisness [business] for one year We have sent home by a man by the name of Cester an acquaintance of Peter from patterson [Patterson] $30 In specemens [specimens] to Delea & $30 My Wife Hannah & Brst [breast] pin for Amos Munsen & a specemen [specimen] for a Brest [breast] pin for Catharine which he promised to take to them on his arrivel [arrival] at Paterson You most likely hear from us But it is hard to Know any boddy [anybody] here or find your acquantance [acquaintance] one of the Amety Boys has gone home the Edsell Bys [boys] called at our store at Sacremento Sacramento & I was was sorry I did not see them Wm. William Edsell Edsells [Edsell's] son from hamburg [Hamburg] I saw some time a go [ago] they say he is doing well But the goshen [Goshen] Edsell Boys I had not seen nor heared [heard] from till they called & Peter told me they was there from what I heared [heard] they are doing well I saw David Linn from what he told me he has not made much I send an order for you to git [get] them old Mortgages of Henry Prises & Johnathan hills [Hill's] Johnathan Hill off Record & see that Eve does What is Wright [right] I am Claring [clearing] up all of these old mortgages and taking them off [missing paper here] Write No more But [missing paper here] Affectionate Son & Brother
