Monday 6 March 1899 Frozed quite hard last night a fine day after last nights fearful wind. After breakfast Voltie & Bob start for Kingston driving on the ice After getting started B ran back for V's old gauntletts and had the due misfortune to tear his storm coat on wire fence. Maud at school. Charley and Belle drove down on wheels bringing the children. Grace sick with worms. Evening visitors Shell, Miss Gordon, Frank Woodman & Will Robinson, Bell and her children.

Teusday 7th 1899 Cloudy, Wind N, blowing half gale all day. Weather just at freezing point. Will & Voltie taking Belle across to Gloyds on Will's ice boat. Maud at school. Charlie, Gracie and Kathleen here. Auntie Gracie carrying Kathleen to keep her quiet till her arms ache. Voltie & his father working in shop Flora Dixon came over to see the children stays all day.

1890 Tuesday Jan 28th A fine winter day sun shining brightly, cold wind N, the river frozen over, a light fall of snow on the ground that fell last night. Welly not very well yet but he hung out the clothes Eveline washed yesterday. I am lying on my book in bed writing this. Grace is cooking beans and beef. John stops home from school to help his father draw hay from the old barn. Poor dear little Muriel is sick with worms. I am not well yet, but much better. Wells sleeps on the lounge every night by the stove to keep fires going. Two men crossed here on the ice today by Ebb's. Welly went to the corners for worm medicine for the baby and got blue calico for Bell & Eveline came back after dark. John & Grace go to Rattrays for evening visit.

1890 Monday Jan 27th A very good day, afternoon cloudy. John brought some water and went to school. Eveline brought more water and washed all the clothes and put them to soak. Grace brought 4 pails full too. Welly is sick with one of his old billious attack, sick all day vomiting and headache. Will came over to see us and he is sick too. Wells has got a bad cold and a sore eye. John Niles and Spaff Joy here this morning to see Wells about the school house pump. Wells was gone to draw hay from old barn so J. N. came again in the evening. Will Rattray sick.

Sunday 26 A beautiful day warm like spring light wind south. I sick abed. Charley and Bell drove down here with his baby Irene

Sunday 19th July 1908 A cool cloudy day rains a little in the morning. Reginald went to bed with tooth ache. V doctored him for tooth ache with carbolic acid. Tooth dont ache this morning but face badly swollen. Arthur and wee Charley and Mr Smith came over. Ray McIntyre & Jim Johnson came over. Belle and young Henry, Kathleen and Charles Junior came driving down in buggy. Belle brought records which the played on phonograph. Then Bell and Henry went across to Marjories in skiff with Arthur Vincent, wee Charley and Mr Smith. Grandpa picks raspberries and currants, Maud goes to church with the Ranous family. Rev Lancaster preaches his last sermon here for a long time if ever again. He going to Denver Colorado for his health. Charles Jr drives home alone and Kathleen stays with me. Clifford and Sylvia gathering juniper for their grandpa. Samy came for castor oil. Lent Grace Halliday Lena Rivers
