Dec 31 Friday Jan 1 1895 Grace washed the colored clothes a soft day, cloudy, wind NE. Voltie went to help Wellie set nets but found the ice very poor, didn't set any. Mart choring around as usual. Bamford mending harness in Kitchen. Mart went for the meal. Thawing all day with some rain in P.M., weather very thick and dark.

Voltie over to Wills in evening.

Saturday 16 March 1895 A beautiful morning light South wind. Voltie drove to the City for for his sawed oak & while gone traded horses got a white mare now for Fred horse. A trot at Millen's Bay this afternoon. Mart went to trot. We are expecting visitors from Carlton this evening but the wind has arisen west and is cold guess they not come. but Charley and Bill come. instead been to Gloyds all day & C been to horse trot as much surprised to see them & the baby. So they stay all night. Grace, Maud I work hard all day, am very tired. Eveline came up Wellie hurt his foot getting out ice for Burnham.
