Fayetteville 28th April 1831
dear Sir
Inclosed [sic] I hand you.. the certificate of BM Garner, clerk of this county, Setting forth the existence of two vacancies, for magistrates: in the town company commanded by Capt. [Carty?]- The citizens of Fayetteville in full town meeting have just nominated for the office Francis L. Kincannon. & Robert S. Helms and are desirous of having them commissioned forthwith, and send these papers on by expresss. You will greatly oblige them, & serve the public interests of the county, by sending out a commission by the bearer.

Permit me to recommend Mr. William T. Ross to fill the vacancy of Entry Taker for Lincoln County Mr. Ross is a young man of fidelity and well qualified to discharge the duties of the office and I presume will be the only applicant as the profits of the office are small.
