The Horticultural Society at the usual hour. The families from Longwood and Cloverly were absent. Our new member from Willow Grove was present and seemed pleased to belong to our Organization. Our guests were Elizabeth E. Tyson Miss Fowler Mrs Anna Gilpin
The specimens consisted of Tomato plant, lettuce and pea 5 in. from Alloway, and from Rockland asparagus, lettuce, tomato plant 12 inches pepper 3 in. egg plant 3 in. and cabbage plant. and flowers (?)
Edgewood, hyacinths. Riverside asparagus and flowers. Sharon asparagus and flowers. Falling Green, peas 8 in. potato 3 in corn 4 in., beans 3 in. Cymbling three leaves, grown in the open air and flowers; from Olney, peas 8 in. corn 2 in. Asparagus and flowers. Brooke Grove, beets, tomato 12 in. peas 5 ins., beans 3 in. Rock Spring peas 9 in. potato 5 in. beans 4 in. and asparagus.

Our specimens were abundant and unusually fine Though insects are so numerous, by the use of helebore and various insecticides, we had a grand display of flowers. From Brooke Grove, corn 4 feet high, salsify, cabbage onions, Lima beans 2 feet high, potato 2 1/2 inches long, beets, cauliflowr, tomato size of a small walnut, peas and flowers. From Rockland egg plant 12 inches, pota -to size of a hickory nut, peas, radishes beets, lettuce, onions, pepper, cabbage and flowers; from Olney, lettuce, beets on-ions, peas, and flowers
White Hall salsify, beets, onions, plums (3 kinds) damsons and flowers.
Avalon strawberries; from The Cedars strawberries and flowers; from Hermon lettuce, Lima beans 3 feet high, beets, peas, water melon vine 1 foot long, and flowers

The specimens were excellent in variety and in quality. From Rockland came flowers, tomatoes 4 kinds including Henderson "400." corn potatoes, cabbage, squashed, Kohl Rabi, Lima beans, celery apples and pears: from Brooke Grove Flowers parsnips, salsify, carrots, tomatoes and pears; from Riverton tomatoes, corn dwarg Lima beans and flowers. Our President expressed the feelings of pleasure which we enjoyed in meeting at this place and referred to former meetings when she [parents?] of our hostess gave us hearty welcome and valuable advice and assistance in our undertakings. All the families were represented with the exceptions of Longwood and Fair Hill. Our guests were Edward and Anna Gilpin, Emily Massey, Miss Fowler Miss Pancoast, Miss Grace Knight, Mrs. Clarke. Mary T. Kirk Mahlon Kirk Jr. Thomas J. Lea and wife and Elizabeth T. Stabler.
The specimens, From Rockland lettuce, cabbage plants. [Pea eine?] 9in. tomatoe plant 6 in and radishes: from The Cedars. Geraniums; Riverton rhubarb radishes and flowers. Fair Hill parsnips carrots lettuce Kale, salsify. Asparagus: Edgewood purple magnolia, Riverside, flowers.
