A clear colde day. Vegetation was partly frozen. All tender things was bitten by the colde. Jim mauled. Ben plowed. Josie straitened up the house and got dinner. I ironed some this morning. Josie went to Marvins. I went to George Blairs.

Kate Harvey came to Marvins this evening. She brought Carrie and I a bonnets. I am glad of mine for I needed it. Henry & Edna went to school.

A cloudy cool day. Have needed fires all day. Jim worked on his tobacco ground. Ben went to Long Island for roofing for the barn shelters. Marvin and Henry went with him. Ben carried corn to the mill. Josie made Henry two shirts and two pair of curtains. I churned this morning. This evening I went to Marvins. Carrie was makeing Eva a dress.

Heard of several planting tobacco today. It is very early to plant yet it may do well.

A hot dry day. Jim went to Chatham. Ben went to the saw mill and got lumber to cover the shelters at the barn. This evening he covered one and would of covered the other one but I ask him to fix the trough at the kitchen door. He did not want to do that but did it just the same. Josie got dinner. This evening she made her a waist. Hugh Brumfield come here this evening.

Julia & Henry, Edna, Franklin are all up stairs makeing so much fuss that I shall not go to bed until they stop.

A good day. Had a little shower this evening. Jim & Ben finished plowing corn today. Jim helped pick berries this evening. Ben worked on the shelters at the barn. He went to Clack Hubbards and got some nails and sugar. Christenia Reynols was here this evening. She come on a bycile. Henry could not let it a lone.

I went to Marvins a few minutes this evening. Carrie had washed today. Josie done a big washing this morning. Nellie caned some berries this morning.

A good day. No rain yet to do any good. The boys worked in the tobacco some this morning. Ben finished covering the barn shetter this evening. Jim & Ben & Henry got up the potatoes this evening. Josie got dinner and made Julia a dress.

I got up soon this morning and made a fire & brough a bucket of water. Washed last nights dishes then got the breakfast before any one else come. I then milked the cow. Made a fire at the wash house and washed until twelve.

Eat dinner and churned then went to Marvins. Reese carried his mother & all the children. The river was so mudy that we did not catch anything any acount.
