Gentlemen

The undersigned property owners desire to call your attention to the dangerous condition of the bridge leading from the Grant Street Bridge to 10 + B Street in Judkins addition The Bridge has been built about 10 years ago and is now in danger of collapse. This bridge is the only outlet for a almost a mile of all the residents on the Hill both north + south and should be speedily replaced by a new and safe bridge.

17 THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE The report of the treasurer is received and ordered referred to the Finance Committee And now come the several persons herein after named and make applications for the licensed herein after specified for the periods and from thee dated hereinafter set out; and at the same time said applicants submit their several bonds in relation thereto a required by the Ordinance; thereupon after due eamination said bonds are approved and said applicants making due proof that they are persons of good moral character. And now the Plans and Specifications for the sidewalk on Jackson Street under Ordinance No. 334 are presented & referred to the Committee on Streets & Street Improvements. And now the Plans and Specification for the sidewalk on Seneca Street under Ordinance No. 336 are presented & referred to the Committee on Streets and Streets Improvements. Licenses Granted Vitus Schmid for a grocery. Pool table and Pigeon Hole table. Robt Hahn for a grocery. Chas Anderson for a retail liquor. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Friday December 8 1882. 269 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE June 1/83 No. 375 be awarded to G.N. Alexander & Co on their said bid. Adopted upon said G.N. Alexander & Co executing a bond in the sum of $1000. From Streets and Street Improvements recommending the granting of the petition of Mary A. Calhoun for the constuction of a sidewalk on Pike Street. Adopted. From Streets recommending the grading of Pike Street from Front to the alley betwwen Front and Second Streets and for sidewalks on both sides of Pike Street from Front to 3rd Street. Adopted upon the following votes, to wit: In favor of said Improvements Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald, Manning & Rasin, Against the same none. City Attorney instructed to submit an Ordinance therefor. From Streets and Street Improvements recommending the opening of of Cedar Street. Adopted and Street Commissioner instructed to open the same. From Licenses & Revenues rejecting the petition of John Brannen for leave to use license. Adopted and petition denied. From Streets approving Street Commissioner's report. Adopted. From Fire Committee asking 1 weeks further time on the petition of the Hook & Ladder Co. Granted. From Committee on Columbia Street Engine House reporting that the Bid of Ranke & Lohse is the lowest bid that is accompanied by a proper bond. Adopted.
