Seattle, Wash., Dec 11th, 1893 To the City Council of Seattle Gentlemen:The undersigned residents and householders in Broadway and DeForest St. north of Madison Street, are much in need of street lights, and of a policeman to watch their premises, and protect the same against mauraders and burglers. We feel that we are entitled to have the same conveniences and protection extended to us that other residents of the city enjoy, in the particulars mentioned, and we earnestly request that you will provide them forthwith. Seattle Washington February 15 1894 To the Honorable City Council of the City of Seattle, Gentlemen:-We the undersigned residents and property owners upon the vacinity of Broadway and DeForrest Streets North of Madison Street and who are obliged to make daily use of said streets hereby petition your honorable body to cuase street lights to be places alont the line of siad Broadway and DeForrest Streets are not now established between Madison Street on the South and Oak Street on the North. Communicationfrom Chief of Police rec'd and read and referred to Com. on Health and Police Communication from Walter Graham offering to furnish the City with 250 evergreen trees for Seattle Park for the Cost of Transportation Read and referred to the Com on Public Grounds Reports Report of G A Hill City Justice, Geo G Lyon Justice of the Peace and the City Jailor for the month of December referred to Committee on Judiciary & returned approved. Report of Street Commisssioners for Month of Dec referred to Street Committee examined and approved Report of Harbor Master showing Harbor dues collected to the amount of $33.15 read and referred to Committee on Harbors and Wharves. Committee Reports Received From Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds reporting that the City Stable ordered built had beem completed with the exception of painting at a total cost of $420.58 and the building is superior in every respect to the one originally planned.
