Seattle, Wash., August 25, 1890
To the Honorable, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle:
The petition of the undersigned, property owners along Depot street west from Front street and vicinity, respectfully represents:
That by resolution duly passed May 9, 1890, your Honorable body ordered Depot street west from Front street to Elliot Bay to be regrded so as to give access to the wharves at the foot of Depot street, and that the City Engineer has prepared a profile showing a grade of 33 feet above datum at the intersection of Depot and Banner streets That by ordinance passed August 15, 1890, no. 1447, your Honorable Body fixed the grade of Depot street at the intersection of Banner street at 40 feet above datum. Your petitioners further represent that no one will be injured if said Depot street be regarded at an elevation of 33 feet at the intersection with Banner street, but that said street will then make considerable property accessible which is otherwise inaccessible. Your petitioners therefore pray that your Honorable body will ordain that said Depot street regarded at an elevation of
