Monday October 24, 1921
A good day. Jim & Ben went to Gretna to help Marvin get ready to sow wheat. Josie has bin very sick all day. We had the doctor to see her this morning. Franklin staid at home. Him and Mabel played out of the doors most of day. I got a nice box of candy by mail today. Alma Bennett sent it. I have not eat any yet. I have not bin to Marvins to day. Mollie was to see Carrie to day. I am glad that she come.
John & Edwin & Christenia went from here this morning. I put out ten little chickens yesterday.
Friday October 28, 1921
A good day. Cloudy in the morning but no rain and we need rain so bad. Jim stripped tobacco all day. Ben shelled some corn & went to the mill. He got his grain ground.
I done all of the feeding of chickens and cows & opossomes. Helped get dinner. Josie made some candy for the school entertainment. Alcie Callands washed for Josie today. She is a good hand. I went to Marvins a few minutes
Jim & Ben went to Willie Mayhews for a hog that Ben bought from Mayhew.
I hope he may have good luck with her. There was to be speaking at the school house tonight. Our folks did not go.
Saturday October 29, 1921
A good day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco most of the day. This evening Ben went to the island after roofing. I went with him. We did not stay long. We come home and eat supper and all except Jim went to the school house to a Halowene party. They solde ice cream and candy. There was a big crowd and I think they nearly all had a good time.
There was 4 of my chiildren and a lot of my grand children & great grand children.
I went to sleep and let the ink get on my book.

Monday, January 2, 1922
A clear colde day the coldest that has bin this winter. Ben has bin at home all day. We did not eat but twice today. We cooked rabbits for dinner. Today is Carries birth day. Jim come home tonight. Mr Bob Starkey brought him from Chatham. He brought a pig with him. He brought several little presents for us all. A thermos bottle for me & candy and a doll for the children. Ben has bin fixin up the fence. The red cow has bin getting in the corn. The children are so glad that Jim is here.
Saturday, April 15, 1922
A good day Ben & Jim finished the ditch and cleaned out the springhouse. Jim plowed this evening. Ben worked on his car a little. Josie baked a cake this morning. Together we got dinner then I went to Reynols's. Bruce is at home. He brought Mollie some of the nices candy I most ever saw.
Christenia was colering eggs for Easter. Johnson was fixing his tobacco land. Jim set one turkey today. Hope that the others will set soon.
