Jennings, John Keenan, and Charles McDonald Thereupon the Council proceeds with the examination and correction of the assessment Roll for the year of 1882. Ordered that the Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to cause written notices to be served by the City Marshall upon the following named persons informing them that the Council propose to increase their respective assessments and that they may appear on Monday May 15th 1882 at 7 1/2 PM to make known their objections thereto; Franenthal Bros, Schwabacher Bros & Co, Harrington & Smith, S. 67 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Be it remembered that on this the 13th day of May 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment of May 12th 1882 Present, His Honor, the Mayor L. P. Smith, and Councilmen John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and Charles McDonald Thereupon the following proceedings are had. A petition is received from Chas. [Coffin?] praying for the right to lay water pipe in the Streets and alleys of the City of Seattle. After due consideration said petition is granted and the ordinance committee instructed to submit an ordinance in accordance therewith and containing all necessary and proper provisions. And now the City Attorney submits ordinance No. 275, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: "an Ordinance to amend section three (3) of ordinance No. 273, entitled 'A special ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement of Union Street from the center line of Front Street to the centre line of Eighth Street in the City of Seattle County of King In Territory of Washington'" After due consideration said Ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit: in favor of adoption John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and Charles McDonald. Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned until May 15th at 7 1/2 pm. Said committee is also instructed to report on the matter of the extension of the Gas Limits. to be ready friday. Ordered that the Council now stand adjournded until May 17th, 1882. And now the Ordinance Committee submit ordinance No. 277, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: "An ordinance to provide for the lighting of the streets "and furnishing the City of Seattle with gas, within "fixed limits." After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and Charles McDonald. Against adoption, none. And now the ordinance committee submit ordinance No. 278, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: "An ordinance granting unto Charles Coppin, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, the right to lay water pipes in all streets and alleys and parts of streets and alleys in the City of Seattle." After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and [Charles McDonald]]; against adoption, none. Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned until May 18th, 1882 Attest: E S Osborne, Clerk Approved L. P.
