KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, George B Adair as principal, and T E Jones as surities, all of King County, State of Washington, are held and firmly bound unto THE CITY OF SEATTLE, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, in the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars, to the payment of which well and truly to be made we jointly and severally bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns firmly by these present. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas on the 24th day of August, 1894 the above bounden principal was by the city council of The City of Seattle granted a license for the period of one year from the 24th day of August 1894, to the 27th day of August, 1895, to keep, store, sell, use, handle, and transport within the limits of The City of Seattle dynamite, nitroglycerine or compounds thereof, hercules powder or giant powder and other explosives upon the conditions named in ordinance No. 3480 of said city, approved August 14th, 1894; NOW, THEREFORE, if the above bounden principal shall well and faithfully observe all the conditions of said ordinance and the several provisions thereof, and shall pay all damages which may accrue by reason of the violation of any of the provisions of said ordinance, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.

Selection of City Attorney Ordered that the Council do now proceed to elect a City Attorney in place of R.B. Albertsons resigned. Mr. S.H. Piles is hereby nominated and unanimously elected to the office of City Attorney of the City of Seattle.
The matter of securing additional council to collect delinquent street grade assessments and the compensation to be allowed, is referred to the Judiciary Commitment;
Ordered that the two new Ahrens Stream Fire Engines be accepted by the City.
Ordered that the Council do now adjourn until Monday December 30th A.D. 1889 at 730 P.M. Attest C.W. Ferris Clerk Approved Robert Moran Mayor
JAN 3 1890 Be it remembered that in Friday the Third day of January A.D. 1890 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets pursuant to law in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Seattle.
The following officers of the City government are present: Councilmen - D.E. Durie - G.W. Hall - T.E. Jones - U.R. Niesz H.F. Phillips - F.A. Twichell - J.N. Wallingford - Harry White. City Attorney - S.H. Piles City Clerk - C.W. Ferris Chief of Police - J.C. Mitchell The following proceedings are held.
The Mayor being absent, on motion of Councilman Hall - Councilman U.R. Niesz is elected and acting mayor.
