year, In testimony whereof, the said Massa chusetts Horticultural Society have caused their common seal to be hereto affixed & this deed to be signed & delivered by Elijah Vose, Jonathan Winship, Robert T. Paine, Marshal P. Wilder, & Isaac P. Davis (a committee of the said Society legally appointed for this purpose at a Meeting thereof held , as by reference to the record thereof, a copy of which is herewith annexed will appear) on this .

At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Committee present, Joseph Story, George Bond, Jacob Bigelow & Z. Cook Junr.. held .

Subscripn for Lots

It was voted that Dr Bigelow and Mr Curtis be a committee to obtain subscribers for lots, by employing an agent to go round, if they deem it expedient.

Sale at Auction

Voted that there be a sale of lots at Auction, on Mt Auburn --

Charles P. Curtis, Secy..--

At a meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Committee held , present, Joseph Story, George Bond, Jacob Bigelow, Z. Cook Junr.. George W Brimmer and B A. Gould-

Enlargement of Lots &c.

Voted. that Gen. Dearborn, Dr Bigelow & GW Brimmer be a Sub Committee to decide on all applications for enlarging lots or laying out new lots, on the terms of the Vote of -

Voted that the Same Committee employ proper officers or servants to take the grounds on ; -

Receiving Tomb-

Voted that the Same Committee build a receiving tomb at such place on the grounds and at such time as they deem proper;

Subscriptn for Obser.

Voted that a subscription be opened at such time as the aforesaid committee deem expedient, for the erection of an observatory on Mount Auburn Voted that the same Committee adjust the bounds of Messr Winships lot -

Voted that Messrs Cook, Pratt, Gould, Elijah Vose

Transfers recorded.

Voted that for all transfers of lots recorded the person requiring such transfer to be recorded shall pay one dollar.—

At a Meeting of the Garden & Cemetery Committtee held on , present, — Dr Bigelow, Mr Bond, Mr Bradlee, Mr Curtis, Mr Samuel Appleton & Mr Elijah Vose Dr Bigelow was chosen Chairman pro tempore Mr Bond was chosen Treasurer, & Mr Curtis was chosen Secretary of the Committee—

Commee to examine Garden &c

Mr Vose and Mr Bradlee were appointed a Committee to examine the Garden & Garden Pond, and to report what improvements ought in their opinion to be made therein in order to render the garden productive and profitable—

Sluice

and also whether the sluice below running under Indian Ridge shall be cleared out

Chapel

Voted that Dr Bigelow be a Committee to prepare a plan & obtain ^an estimate of the expense of erecting a suitable Chapel

Commee on Lots

Voted that Mr Bond, Dr Bigelow & Mr Curtis be a Committee on laying out & discontinuing lots with power to authorize the employment of as many hands as they see fit—

of the Garden and Cemetery, but its surplus products be equivalent, as they certainly should at no remote period be, of to defraying the expenses of the labor of conducting it. In the meantime it will be advancing towards that point, when it may be considered not only an object of interest and of utility but worthy of forming a part of the institution of Mount Auburn.
