A good day here. There was clouds and rain a round and very hard thunder. Ben and Paul and Owen worked on the barns this morning. This evening Owen helped Hutcherson thrash wheat.

Josie got dinner. This evening she put strings around Bens water melon patch.

I went to Reynolds they were all at home except Johnson. I had a pleasant visit. I like Jane fine. Come back by Marvins they were getting on fine.

A cloudy day and raining tonight. The men folks cant do any thing much.

Josie sowed some this morning. This evening she went to see Mrs. Edmons & Miss Alice Wooding. Did not see Miss Alice as they dont let any one go in to see her. I hope that they both may soon be better.

I got a letter from Julia Fergerson this evening. Was glad to hear from her. I wrote John Brumfield a letter today.

Paul Bennett is very much complaining to day. Jim Brumfield carried some rye to Charley Hutcherson for him to grind. Walked and carried it rather than hitch a horse to a buggy.

A good day. We had a shower this evening. Henry and I got up with the turkeys. Ben & Tim plowed some on the corn and helped Norman Booker get up some hay. Ben went to Gretna and got some flour that Jim bought. Hattie washed some this morning, Mrs. Mamie Hutcherson sent me some nice cabbage by Hattie. Mrs. Booker sent me some snaps by Jim. Miss Anna Hubbard sent Josie some light bread by mail. Mabel has cried a lot today. I hope she may feel better by morning. Ben bought some beef at Gretna I cooked some of it for supper. I hope to enjoy it.

A good day. Jim and John Ward cut corn. Ben has bin at Lees all day. The children went to school. Evylin washed a big washing for them. Nellie kept the baby. I got dinner. Lelia Ward come this morning and got a chicken. She said she wanted it for their dinner. Heard today that Evylin Hutcherson is sick. Jo Edmons is bad off yet from getting hurt. I hope that they may get well soon. Today is Mabels birth day. She is four years old. I am writing by the light of four little wax candles that I made for her. She is very well except a sore ear.
