A clear cold morning wind and a little snow this evening. Ben & Jim ground their axes this morning. Josie & I got dinner.

Ben carried Nellie and Evylin to Gretna this evening. I went with them did not suffer much with colde. Josie had supper about done when we got home.

Tonight Thelma & Mary and Ben has gone to Lee Brumfields to a dance. Mary and Thelma went to George Blairs,

A good day. Ben and Jim worked at the barn until dinner. Then Jim went to the mill. He got home by night. Ben split some wood for the range. Then went to Renan. Nellie sent Evylin a dress by mail. Ella went home this evening. Mr Henelme ??? come for her on his car. Nellie and I got dinner. Nellie & Fanny washed dishes at dinner tonight. Josie has suffered a lot today. Mrs. Kent come to see her this evening. Norman Booker went to Gretna this morning. He offered to bring any thing I wanted. I think he was was very kind to offer so much. Maybel (?) has bein une? good today.

A good day. Jim and John Ward burned a plant bed. Ben come from Gretna. He solde his last tobacco today. he is very well pleased with the price. He staid at Marvin Smiths last night. Kate and Irvin come a little while this evening. Nellie sewed on Evylin's aprons this evening. Edna brought water tonight. Mrs Carr got a good mess of salit today. We certainly did enjoy it. I baked sweet potatoes for the children to eat when they come home from school. Ben brought some apples from Gretna.

A cloudy day. Ben and Jim hauled wood. Said they had hauled 42 two-horse loads here this winter. Nellie and I got dinner. The children went to school. All of the sick that we heard from was doing well as could be expected. Nellie had a letter from Evylin. She was not well. Wants Nell to come there as soon as she can. Lelia Ward come and got the clothes to iron. I commenced me a rug by ripping up an old garment. Hope I can work some. Mabel never went to sleep until after 8 oclock. A good day. Jim and John cut today. Ben went to Chatham with Odie Kellie. They carried the poll books. Clement was elected. Nellie got dinner. Fried pies and baked tea cakes. She made a scarf for her mother. She got a letter from Evylin. I got a letter from Carrie Smith. Her baby is sick. I went to Johnson Reynols. They were well as usual. Julia Ferguson had gone to see her Aunt Kate. Jim Farthing bought him a car today. Reubin Reynols brought me home in their big car. I sewed a little today. Made Franklin a union suit.
