A good morning. Rain tonight. Jim and Ben & Henry suckered tobacco all day except what time they worked over the sick horse. We hope he is some better tonight.

Josie and I have bin very busy all day. Josie made preserves & jellie of the damsons that she got from Powers. We made a pie of part of the peaches that she got yesterday and caned the rest of them.

Jack Harvey come over here a while to day. While he was here Miss Alice Wooding and Miss Annie Carter come a few minutes. We cut a fine water mellon while they were here. Julia Fergerson went back to Portsmouth. Julia did not come to see us while she was at home. Marvin and Carrie went to the baptizing this morning.

A good day. Rain at night. Ben & Jim & Henry suckered tobacco until twelve oclock then Ben went to Renan and got fruit jars and tops and rubbers.

Jim and Ben hauled a lot of olde boards to the wood pile.

Josie and I worked on grapes most of the day. This evening I picked a few dried beans and got some sweet potatoes, the first that we have had of this years crop. Josie gathered some snaps & strung them and got Irish potatoes for dinner, tomorrows dinner.

Prince is much better than he was yesterday.

A good day. The men folks moved some tobacco & cut some for Mr. Owen.

Jim & Ben will stay at the barn tonight. Henry is with Jim now. Edna is bad off with colde. Carries baby is not well.

Josie got dinner with a little help. Nellie caned some tomatoes this morning. This evening she went to Mr. Woodings and got some grapes. Miss Willie Wooding & Miss Annie Carter come with her home on a buggy.

I went to George Blairs. Lottie Craddock & her little baby is over there. Miss Alice Hubbard & Ada Hutcherson and Susie Hutcherson was there. They had water mellons & peaches and grapes.

A good day. Jim & Ben staid a round the barns most of the day. Mr. Owen went to the mill. Did not get his grinding. Ben went to Altavista this evening. He went after Owens sister. While he was there he bought a little sack of flour.

Josie got dinner. Nellie caned some apples.

Evylin & Henry and I went to White Falls fishing. Marvin carried us and come after us. He had a blow out as he went over there.

Marvin went to preaching this evening.

A good day. Ben & Jim moved some tobacco.

Josie got dinner. She baked pies. Evylin & Edna and I went to Worshams pond. Josie fixed our dinner. We went on a buggy and drove Jake, Bens horse. Nellie caned some tomatoes. Denia & Kate come to see us this evening.

I am sorry that I was not at home.

Nellie dug some sweet potatoes.
