A very bad day. Hail & rain and sleet. The ice was so heavy that some trees broke. The olde cut paper here broke badly.

Jim and Ben stripped tobacco. Ben milked for me this morning. I was a fraid I might fall on the ice.

I got dinner and churned. Mr Sam Owens baby is very sick. Josie went up there this evening. I am sorry for them but cant help them. Marvin solde tobacco at Gretna today. Was well pleased. I am so glad. I have not seen any of Marvins people in some time. Hope the weather will soon be better so I can get a round.

A good day. The men folks worked tobacco all day. Ben went to Hubbard's store tonight. He carried three of the children with him. Josie ironed most of the day. This evening I went to Marvins. Thought I might get to go to the store but Reese was so busy that he could not go. Carry was sewing on a dress for her self. Ben got done his little[?] crop of tobacco. Hope they can get Jims done tomorrow. We have a good garden for this time of the year.

Henry is reading and it will soon be 10 oclock.

A good morning. Rain this evening. Ben & Jim helped Marvin get up some hay then Marvins folks helped thin corn until they finished.

Josie got dinner. I picked a few black berries. I caned a half gallon & had all they would eat for dinner and supper. I sowed some on a quilt this evening. I slept a long nap after dinner. Something I dont often do.

Well we are all glad of the good rain that come this evening.
