A cloudy day. Rain & thunder this evening. The first thunder cloud of the year. Henry went to school. Edna did not go.

Ben & Jim hauled some feed and corn this morning. Ben bought Kates heifer from Edmons this morning. Jim & Ben plowed this evening until it rained. Carrie come a few minutes.

Josie & Carrie went to the turnip patch to cut salit. It rained and they had to quit. I went to the plant bed this morning. This evening I sowed on the canvas for the plant bed.

A beautiful day. Ben & Jim put the canvas on the plant beds to day. They cut some trees at the spring for wood. Josie got dinner. She baked some nice pies.

Josie and the children and I went to Marvins a little while. Carrie was washing. She quit. Will finish in the morning if nothing happens. She come with us to the turnip patch and cut salit. Josie made Franklin a suit to day.

There was a big frost this morning.

A good day. Jim plowed. Ben went to Altavista to have his teeth worked on. He got his worke done. Henry went with Ben.

Josie washed and ironed a silk shirt for Jim. We had turnip salit for dinner. The boys have a nice bed of salit.

I have bin at home all day and no one come. Was thinkin that John might come. Hope he will come soon.

A cloudy day. We had rain and lightning and thunder last night. Jim and Ben has bin blowing up stumps today. Ben went to Mt Airy for fuse and Josie and all the children went.

We cooked turnip salit for dinner and turnips. We looked for the men that is to put in lights but they did not come.

I went to Marvins a little while. Carrie was makeing Hazel a dress. Virginia Harvey was at Carries to day. She had bin doing some fancy work for Carrie. Josie fixed a nice towel this evening.

A good day. We all staid at home all day. Mrs Car & Mr Hobson is here yet. We cooked turnip salit and fried two chickens for dinner. No one come to see us.

Don't know any thing to write. I talked with Grace Brumfield to night. Did not hear anything new worth writing. Elsie was to see them today. Jack Harvey is at home to night.
