A cloudy day and rain tonight. The men worked on their tobacco land most of the day. Ben went to the meeting of the school board late this evening.
Josie got dinner. This evening I went to Johnsons. Mollie & Christenia was at home. Mrs Yeats went from Posies this evening. Nannies baby is not well.

Monday, August 4, 1919
A good day. Jim suckered tobacco all day. Ben carried Josie & Franklin & Mary B to Jim Powers. They spent the day. He brough them home to night. Fanny Power come with them. John & his children went to Marvins this evening and from there to Johnson Reynolds. Edna went with them. Christenia Reynols & Ruth Barker come here a while this evening.
Virginia Harvey & Hellen Brumfield come to night. Mr Smith brought them on a car.
I gathered a few beans this evening & killed two chickens for breakfast in the morning.

Wednesday, August 6, 1919
A little rain this morning. Clear this evening. Jim & John and Owen & Ben pulled leaves to day. Marvin worked in Bens place while he carried Mary Brumfield & Fanny Power to Mr Powers. Edwin & Franklin Brumfield went with him.
Ruth Barker & Christenia Reynolds eat dinner with us and spent the evening with us. Julia Fergerson was at Carries to day.
Josie got dinner. This evening she went to Marvins.
We heard to day that Miss Moon was dead that was staying at Bookers.

Edwin Brumfield dried the dishes to night.
Wednesday, August 13, 1919
A good day. Ben & Jim suckered some tobacco. Ben went to Strait Stone and got some roofin. John & Edwin finished covering the barn and helpe work in the tobacco a while.
Ben carried Edwin & Christenia and Henry & Edna and I to White Falls. The river was two full & mudy. So we soon come home. I come by Johnsons. Mollie was makin grape jellie. Julia was washin some meal that she had bought. Kate Hubbard was taken sick today. I hope she will soon be well a gain. I come by Carries. She was pickin grapes.

Tuesday, October 7, 1919
A beautiful day. Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Owen loaded some on Mr Mayhews truck to day. They are going to South Boston.
Mollie and Christenia Reynolds come a little while to day. Mrs Owen & Mrs Dews come a few minutes this evening. Mrs Car washed dishes for me today and that was a big help.
I washed the babys flanels this evening.
Jim & Ben went to the barn to nigh to tie tobacco.
I have wrote a letter to Letcher Craddock to night.
