A cloudy day.

Ben and Owen and Marvin and William hauled rock to the barn. Josie ironed. I picked beans. Denia Blair & Kate Harvey come in the evening. I walked with them as far as Marvins.

This is wrote the 26 at eight oclock. I could not find my ink last night.

A cool windy day.

Josie washed some this morning and scrubbed the kitchen floor this evening.

Ben and Owen and Marvin and William built fire boxes in the barn to day.

Tonight a dog passed and in a few minutes Tom Edmons and several other men come and said that the dog was mad.

Some one killed him over near Renan.

A good day. Ben and Owen and Paul pulled leaves to day. Marvin Smith and William Gilbert (col) helped them. Nearly all the children that was big enough handed leaves. This evening Fanny Emerson Josie and I helped some. Josie got dinner. She cooked snaps and beets and butter beans and corn. Mrs Owen sent her the corn.

To night Paul and Fanny has gone to meeting at St. Johns. (ink smear) Well I went to sleep I made my mark.

A good day. There was some frost this morning.

Ben finished firing his tobacco this morning. Ben and family went to Jim Powers to day. I went to George Blairs. They were all gone to Strait Stone to preaching. They had a good dinner and I enjoyed it.

Carrie and Marvin and the three little children come over there. I come with them back on the car.

Josie and Ben was at home when I got here. Tonight Marvin and William Gilbert are here filling out Williams questionaire. I hope he may never have to go to the war.

A good day. Ben Owen and the children cut corn. William Gilbert helped half of the day.

This evening Ben went to see a bout some lumber that he bought from Mrs Berger. Josie ironed this morning and picked peas this evening. I picked some beans. I went to Marvins a while this evening. Carrie was canning apples.
