To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle:
Gentlemen: Your Special Committee to whom was referred the Communication of the mayor relating to the construction of a Fire Boat for this city beg to report that we have considered the matter fully and would reccomend that the plans for such a boat be secured at once and contract for the construction be let at the earliest possible moment. Such plans can be secured at a cost of 3 1/2 per cent on the cost which we estimate to be about $35,000. These plans would be furnished by a Celebrated Naval Architect who has prepared the plans and is supervising the construction of the new Fire Boat for the City of New York.
