A cloudy day. The men folks stripped tobacco.

Josie got dinner. Nellie brought the water that she used and the wood was in the house.

I washed some. Did not put out the clothes.

I went to George Blairs. Denia and the girls was cleaning the yards.

Cordie Blair has some beautiful flowers. Isla has not come home yet.

Tonight Ben and Henry has gone hunting.

A good day. Effie, Cordie, and I went to see Alma Bennett. She is in the hospitle in Richmond. Found her feeling good considering that she cant walk a step.

I wrote to Lizzie Bennett this evening. I went and looked at the pretty flowers at the green houses.

A good day. Did not see Alma today. Effie had company to day, a Mrs Lavender. She had a nice dinner. Served it in three courses. William had a head ache last night and was sick this morning. Could not go to school. He was better this evening. William, Cordie, and I went to Windensburg [?] Pond. We saw the prettiest flowers over there. Great beds of cannas in bloom. We walked over there and come back on the street car.

Will & Jack Harvey are talking a bout their dr books. It is dry stuff to me.

A cloudy day. Rain tonight. Josie died this morning 20 minutes after three oclock. Denia and Mollie and Kate Mrs. Booker Mrs Edmonds & Mrs. Kent was here. They all done what they could to help about what was to be done. Jim Johnson went to Gretna and got a casket a very nice one. There has bin several here today. Two preachers Mr. Hogan and Mr. Jenings(?) ??? and Otho and Sallie and Mrs. Thomson are here tonight. Oscar Eade and Hellen and Doris Brumfield come tonight and brought flowers. Mrs. Car ? has been upstairs most of the day. Heard tonight that Olas boy is better. Hope he may get well. Carrie and Reese and the baby come 15 until 8 oclock.

A clear colde day. The neighbors has bin oh so kind to Ben. They helped to burie Josie. There was a big crowd for the weather and so much sickness a bout. Mollie and Kate helped cook dinner. Mollie gave me a nice cake and two jars of pickles. No one eat dinner with us but Mr Mayhew and Lee Brumfield. Mr. Bennett & Lizzie and Gordon come while we were eating dinner. They eat with us. I was glad that they come. Marvin and Carrie and three of the children come. Mr. Jennings talked at the grave. They sung several songs. Had the nicest flowers I most ever did see Twenty minutes until 8 o'clock.
