A good day. Mr Owen and wife went to Strait Stone. Ben went to Gretna to meet the teacher. She did not come. Ben said that he saw Tenia Brumfield.

Ben and family went to see Lucuis Gravley this evening.

Mrs Daulton come here this morning and got some apples to can.

I went to see Carrie a while this evening.

Marvin went to Altavista to day.

A good day. Ben went to Chatham with Jim Emerson Lucius Gravley and Chesley Edmons and Faber Jefferson and lots of others had to start to training camp.

John Hutcherson disked Bens wheat land this morning for one dollar per acre.

We that was Paul and Owen and Josie and Henry Brumfield and Luke and Norman Owen all stripped tobacco. To night Ben and Paul has gone to the barn to rebulk some tobacco.

Josie gave me a nice lot of candy a present from Josie and Carrie. Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 72 years olde.

I thank them both. Mother.

A good day. Ben and Owen got up corn until twelve then Ben helped rais a house for George Hutcherson. I went to Marvins. Kate Harvey was there. Carrie gave me some meat. Jim Power and Fletcher Carr is here to night also Charley Hutcherson.

Josie sewed. She made Ben a shirt.

Lucius Gravley come home from camp to stay we hope.

A cloudy day. Ben worked on Owens house. It has bin a busy day with Josie and I. Josie ironed most all day.

I went down to the cook room 15 to four oclock made a fire washed the supper dishes then got breakfast. Called the rest of them then we eat. After breakfast I cut up two pumpkins and put them on to cook then put on some meat to cook fed two calves and brought a bucket of water then milked two cows and sloped the pigs put on a liver and face to make scrappel then churned. Josie made bread and coffee for dinner. I washed up a lot of things and took up the meat for dinner then eat dinner. Took up the pumpkins and meat for scrapple and made the scrappel. Janie Gravley and Lucius Muriel Gravley and Effie Brumfield stopped here a few minutes on their way home from Danville. Well I have not room for any more.

A good day. Jim & Ben went to Lee Brumfields this evening & Henry.

Josie went to Rob Hubbards this morning. Edna & Franklin and I staid home all day.

Paul Bennett come a while this evening. I am all ways glad to see Paul.

Lucius Gravely passed here to day. He said he would take the school at Renan for a while so I guess the children will start to school in the morning.
