Tuesday November 29, 1921
A good day. Ben and Jim shucked some corn and loaded Jims tobacco on John Hutcherson truck. John & Jim started to Danville. I hope they got there ok. This evening Ben & Marvin went to the school house and helped to put a pump in the well that has bin bored there. They staid late. The children come home with them. Josie had supper ready when they got home. I cut peices and sewed on my quilt most of the day. Hope to finish the squares tomorrow if I work on it. I wanted to go to Marvins this evening but would not leave Josie Mabel.

Tuesday, January 3, 1922
A cloudy colde day. Jim & Ben shucked some corn and fed the cows the stalks. We got dinner at twelve oclock today. The children went to school was very late comeing home. Mabel stuck a stick in Franklins eye. I am afraid it is hurt bad. Hope it may be a bout well in the morning. Josie and I have sewed a little today. I wrote Lizzie Benett this morning. I am uneasy a bout Lonnie. I had a note from Carrie today. I am glad that they got home ok. I feel like I would like to see all of the children but I may never see them all a gain. No one knows what will be.
Tuesday, January 10, 1922
A good day. Jim stayed here and worked on a plant bed & shucked some corn. Josie got dinner and kept Mabel. Ben and I went to see Lonnie Bennett. He is very sick yet but better than he was a while back. I hope he may get well a gain. Ben and I come by Gretna and went to Marvin Smiths a while. I was glad to see them. Did not see Marvin. He was burning a plant bed. The children went to school. Franklin went today.
Friday, January 13, 1922
A colde day. Ben & Jim burnt and sowed a plant bed. Henry & Edna went to school. Josie mended some stockings. I got dinner. I churned this morning. We heard over the phone that Cordie Blair is no better. We have to stay at home now that the weather is bad that I dont know any thing to write. Little Mabel has bin sick today. I hope she may be well in the morning. Ena let the cows out of the stalls tonight for me.
Saturday, January 14, 1922
A clear colde day. Jim & Ben and Henry shucked some corn & gave the stalks to the cows. Then cut wood. Kate Harvey come a while today. I was glad that she came. Josie got dinner. I ironed some. Mabel has been sick alday. I am very sorry for her and hope she may soon be well. Ben has gone to the store tonight for oranges for her. I have not heard from the sick grandchildre today. I hope they may soon be well. Jim cut his finger right bad today.
