Slept till 7:30. Still no real word from Mary, who wasn't here at work for better than two weeks. Continued Dante till midmorning, when the mailman brought my dover order (Mozart quintets, Chopin Preludes and studies) minus the Chopin nocturnes and polonaises, which are back ordered. Note (invoice) from scholar's Book shelf says Watt is in the way but the 3-vol. Dante will be shipped by U. Cal. Press. Spent rest of the day XXXXXXX repeat marks in the Mozart, Transcribing from old pocket scores, a playing the first and second quintets for repeat indications.
Morningside; visited with Tunkie, who tols me for the first time, "There's nothing the doctors can do for me." He is simply sitting there waiting while the cancer takes its course. A horror story, one faced by many all around the world.
