1st Month JANUARY, 1940 31 Days Septuagesima Snuday
Sun. 21 very cold. It's snowing hard. Did not go to Sunday School.
MON. 22 Sheila had slight sore throat and so stayed at home.
TUES. 23 had a lot of homework
WED. 24 Full Moon, 11.22 p.m. Janet was late home snowed slightly.
THUR. 25 Conversion of St. Paul Mummy and Daddy played Film Fantasy with us. snowed
FRI. 26 Sun Rises, 7.49 ; Sets, 4.36 nearly missed the bus for school. Did all homework
SAT. 27 went for music lesson. Came home and made a snowman snow about 5ins thick. [ ]

29 Days FEBRUARY, 1940 2nd Month THUR. 1 very cold. Janet went to School on the Sledge.
FRI. 2 Purification of B .V .M . Sun Rises, 7.38 ; Sets, 4.50 Put my pattern on my neddlework apron. Janet stayed at home
SAT. Janet did not go to music. Walked on frozen [snow] drifts.
