MAY 1943

9 SUNDAY Terribly rough day. Went to Sunday School in morning and played for Primary. Did not go to S. school in afternoon. Did some typing

10 MONDAY Went to School. Terrible day. Rained nearly all the time. Did not have games came home. Have got 12 baby chicks.

11 TUESDAY Nicer day. Mummy washed and ironed; Daddy brought Mr Bloy for dinner

12 WEDNESDAY Had cookery with Miss Turner made Rhubarb pie. 4d. Did homework in evening.

13 THURSDAY Mummy went to visit boys of RAF hospital with Miss Smith. She and Janet went to see Mrs Miniver in evening

14 FRIDAY Lovely day. Spent all evening trying to do Algebra homework.

15 SATURDAY Helped Mummy and did some homework in morning. Went to Betty in afternoon, and went to see Mrs Miniver. Waited 2hrs to see Kity [Pe]

MAY 1943

16 SUNDAY Went to Sunday School in morning wore new dress & coat. Played for Primary. Went to Sunday S in afternoon. Did homework in evening.

17 MONDAY Had rounders instead of gym. Miss Bourough away so did homework instead of science. Lovely day, played tennis.

18 TUESDAY We are doing Old Testement in Scripture. Did a therorem in Geometry lovely day.

19 WEDNESDAY Made cheese straws in cookery 3d. Miss Bourough still away but she sent some nasty work for us to do. Lovely day.

20 THURSDAY* Had rounders instead of gym. Miss Westley away and Miss Latimer sat with us, very hot and close. Had a lot of homework.

21 FRIDAY Had a hectic day school as usual. Lovely weather.

22 SATURDAY Mary & Margaret Bloy came over for the Day. Mr and Mrs Bloy came to tea. Mary stayed the night but were unlucky

MAY 1943

23 SUNDAY Mary went to Sunday School with us twice. New stock came for Primary including 2lbs plastasine and some chalks.

24 MONDAY WentMary went home with Daddy early in morning. Had dancing instead of gym. Did not have games as a terrible day. Pouring with rain.

25 TUESDAY Got through a Geometry test alright. Had a very laughable French lesson of subject of "love."

26 WEDNESDAY Lovely day. Made sweet biscuits in cookery. Worked individually. 4d each.

27 THURSDAY Nice day. Had rounders instead of gym. as Miss Latimer absent

28 FRIDAY Did not go into prayers as did not feel well. Was not well at dinner time, so went down to Mrs Kisby and stayed rest of afternoon

29 SATURDAY Stayed in bed all day. Edgar came in afternoon [] of the day []

MAY - JUNE 1943

30 SUNDAY Stayed in bed until dinner. Uncle Sid & Auntie Nancy came for tea. Had a musical evening.

31 MONDAY Joy's baby born. A little girl. Rhona Mary. 6 lbs. Did not go to school. Helped Mummy.

JUNE 1 TUESDAY Did not go to school. Wrote to June & Betty stayed at home alone all day as Mummy went out with Daddy.

2 WEDNESDAY Did not go to school. Went to the Doctors. - gave me some pills. Cold showery weather.

3 THURSDAY Didn't go to school, but went to Ely on 11.20 bus, went to dressmakers to be fitted for dress. Had fried egg & chips for dinner.

4 FRIDAY Did not go to school. Painted board and mowed lawn. Wrote to June. Went to practice of play in evening poured with rain.

5 SATURDAY Went to Sutton with Walter in morning. Saw his sweet little kittens. Cleaned my bike thoroughly in afternoon and evening.

JUNE 1943

6 SUNDAY Sunday school Anniversary. Went to three services. Said my part very badly and took collection in afternoon. Went to Brian's to tea. Had six airmen in to supper.

7 MONDAY Went to school. Had dancing instead of gym. Foggy in morning, but lovely day. Had a lovely game of tennis. picked strawberries in evening.

8 TUESDAY Did not feel very grand all day. Nice day. Picked strawberries, mowed lawn, and drove tractor in evening.

9 WEDNESDAY Did not go to school as still felt ill. Helped Mummie all day.

10 Thursday Did not go to school as Mummy was not very well. I kept house all day. Mrs Gambert came to tea and Miss Vye came in evening

11 FRIDAY Picked strawberries all the morning Had a rest in afternoon. Mowed lawn. Made five, gooseberry & strawberry pies in the evening.

12 SATURDAY Picked strawberries all the morning The Smith family came in afternoon. Made some salad dressing.
