APRIL 4th Month 1945

Cold in morning, but lovely afternoon.
8 Low Sun--1st after Easter
Went to
S. School in morning and taught
primary. Went to S. School in afternoon.
Bruce & Nev. came to tea and went to
chapel with us. Alan, Betty Maclean []
a black boy [] Thomas home with us.
He is a singer and plays the violin.
Bill came in after supper.

9 Mon Very foggy in morning
but lovely afternoon. Mummy
went to Cambridge for 2 days holiday.
Janet & I did all the washing and
finished spring cleaning the sculery.
Read in evening. Betty & Gordon came
to supper. Bill came in late.
Lovely day.

10 Tues Did all the ironing
in morning. Janet spring cleaned the
bathroom. Made some ginger biscuits
and had a bath in afternoon. Betty
Gordon & George came to tea. Barney
came in evening. Betty stayed the night.
Got up early. Bill came for breakfast and
went on 9 days leave.

11 Wed Finished work
early and then Betty, Janet &
I went to Cambridge and met Mummy
and went shopping. Had coffee at the
Dorothy and dinner at Lyons. Also 2
ice creams. I bought a pair of
sandals and some dress material.
