APRIL 4th Month 1945

15 Sun- 2nd after Easter Gorgeous day. Went to S. School in morning & afternoon and taught Primary. Gordon preached at Sutton in morning. Gordon, Bruce, Judy & George came to tea. Bruce preached in evening. Betty, George Judy & Walter Constable came to supper.

16 Mon Very hot day. Janet & I spring cleaned the lounge Gordon came for tea & supper. Bruce came in in the afternoon & evening. Got changed in evening and read. Went to bed early

Lovely day. 17 Tues Helped Mummy all the morning. Did a lot of ironing. George went on leave. Gordon came for dinner & supper. Read in afternoon Set potatoes in evening. Betty & Judy also came to supper.

Very hot day. Helped Daddy on the 18 Wed land all day. Set potatoes and drove the tractor. Gordon finished his tour of ops. Had Bible class on lawn in evening. Joan the Padre, Betty Gordon Judy Ted Leslie, Geo.[] Gordon is staying with us.

1945 30 Days APRIL

* 19 Th--Primrose Day Very hot day. Moon's first quarter 7.46 a.m. Helped Mummy in the morning, cleaned bedroom. We went to Ely in afternoon and went to have our dresses finished. Read all the evening.

20 Fri Nice day but not quite so hot. Did some reading and sewing in morning. Read in afternoon and helped Gordon with his kit bags. Drove the tractor for Gordon in the evening. Betty & Barney came to supper. Wrote to Betty. Bill came back from leave.

21 Sat--Alter Clocks for Summer Time tomorrow Quite cold day. Cleaned the bathroom and the Gordon & I went to Sutton and did errands. Read in afternoon and then set potatoes for 2 hrs, had a bath & read in evening.

Memo

Wed. Molly Hill & Len Richards and his friend came. Had some fun afterwards with Gordon, Leslie & Betty in the orchard.

APRIL 4th Month 1945

22 Sun--3rd after Easter Cold day. Summer Time begins at 2 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time Gordon took S. School in morning. Taught primary. Went to S. School in afternoon. Went to Joy's to tea. Went for walk with Rona. Went to chapel in evening & afterwards went to meet Gordon from Wardy Hill. Continued in memo.

23 Mon--St. George's Day

Quite nice day. Didn't feel well in morning so had no breakfast. Gordon & Betty went on leave. Helped Mummy wash in morning. Did some revision in afternoon. Stitched Bill's props on. We mended Gordon's punctures. I watched and learned how to do it.

Grandma's Birthday 24 Tues Quite nice day. Set potatoes all the morning. Had a bath and did some revision in afternoon. Revised again in evening. Went to bed early.

Started school again. 25 Wed--St. Mark Did not have any lessons until after break. Had singing & rounders. Had history test in afternoon. Did not go to Bible class. Cut lawn & read. Judy, Joan, Molly, Leslie

1945 30 Days APRIL

26 Th Fairly cold day. Had current events in morning. Had to write a critical account of a book in English lesson. Biology in afternoon, very boring. Bill & Ted popped in in evening. Did crossword & read.

27 Fri- Full Moon 10.33 a.m. Very cold day Betty away from School. Scripture lessons both very boring. Had to take notes in both history lessons. Played rounders in afternoon. Mummy & Daddy went to pictures to celebrate wedding anniversary. Washed my hair.

Very cold day, A little snow & sleet. 28 Sat Helped Mummy all the morning. Cleaned up and did veges. Had a bath in afternoon. Bill came in in evening. Did some homework and read

APRIL - MAY 1945

Still very cold snowed at night 29 Sun-4th after Easter Went to S. School in morning and taught primary Read & started writing a letter in afternoon. Gordon's friend Eric Munt a Flt-Sgt pilot came to tea. Jonty & Molly read lessons in chapel. Bill came in to supper.

Very cold a layer of snow 20 Mon on the ground in morning. Still doing frog skeleton in biology. Had two art lessons in afternoon and then had my first music lesson. Bruce Eric & Bill came in. Did H.W and had a practise.

1 May Tues-St. Philip and St. James Cold wet day. Still doing frog in biology. Did french in free lesson. Came home in afternoon. Did some H.W. in afteroon & evening. Bruce came back from leave. Bill came in snow in morning but sunshine afterward!

2 Wed Got Mummy's purse finished art. Singing and gym & quite nice. Messed about in free lesson. History a bind. Went to Bible class in evening. Molly Jean Judy Joan
